Co-founder of the successful and innovative East London night Temple of Bass, Matamatiks has played alongside the likes of Icicle, Jubei, Ulterior Motive, and The McMash Clan to name but a few.
Having firmly cemented himself within London’s underground rave scene, the DJ / producer has been leaving dancefloors all over the capital gasping for more. Having recently enjoyed working with producer / composer Beaton, he is now focussing on his own solo act.
Long time bass music selecta, he has wowed crowds from Spain to Senegal, and is working hard in the studio to fine-tune his production sound. He draws on a varied palet encompassing electronica (acid house, oldskool jungle, garage, techno, all styles of drum & bass, and ambient), jazz, reggae, dub, and West-African pop, folk and blues.
Unafraid to push genre boundaries, his highly original DJ sets are characterised by a high energy blend of cutting edge and classic tracks, harnessing the ciaroscuro of blending emotive, soulful tracks with the hardest, most foot-stomping basslines and rhythms.
Now a signed DJ on Acidic Records, expect to hear more from Matamatiks in the coming months.
